O caminho é parte do antigo leito da Woodhead Railway Line, uma ferrovia inaugurada no século 19 que ligava Manchester a Sheffield. Resolvi sair para caminhar e fazer todo o trajeto até a Middle Black Clough Waterfall. 22 km não pareciam tanta coisa antes de eu sair de casa. Ao fim do dia, Meu tênis preferido estava furado, mal conseguia levantar o pé do chão, mas cheguei à cachoeira e pude observar lebres e corças selvagens na região proxima ao Torside Reservoir.
The path follows part of the old Woodhead Railway Line, opened in the 19th century to connect Manchester and Sheffield. I set out to walk its whole length to Middle Black Clough Waterfall. Twenty-two kilometres did not seem like much before I left home. By the end of the day, my favourite trainers had worn through, I could barely lift my feet, but I reached the waterfall and saw hares and roe deer near Torside Reservoir.
