Oxford Road, a rua onde vivem e estudam estudantes do mundo inteiro (boa parte chineses). Daqui saem os maiores médicos, engenheiros, físicos e filhinhos de papai.
Na mesma rua onde vive a juventude universitária, há séculos de história e descobertas. Um pouco mais abaixo, no sentido contrário ao da foto, fica um aglomerado de restaurantes, casas noturnas e pubs. Ali também estão os laboratórios onde Alan Turing trabalhou nos primeiros computadores, Ernest Rutherford e Niels Bohr estudaram o átomo e o grafeno foi isolado pela primeira vez. E no mesmo endereço fica a loja de instrumentos Johnny Roadhouse Music, peça chave da história e cultura Mancuniana, frequentada assiduamente por Noel e Liam Gallagher (Oasis), Morrissey (The Smiths) e Stephen Morris (Joy Division).
Oxford Road, the street where students from all over the world live and study (many of them Chinese). This is where the finest doctors, engineers, physicists and silver-spoon kids come from.
The same street that is home to young university students is also home to centuries of history and discovery. A little further down, in the opposite direction from the photo, there is a cluster of restaurants, nightclubs and pubs. This is also where you'll find the laboratories where Alan Turing worked on the first computers, Ernest Rutherford and Niels Bohr studied the atom, and graphene was isolated for the first time. And on the same road stands the instrument shop Johnny Roadhouse Music, a key piece of Mancunian history and culture, and a regular haunt of Noel and Liam Gallagher (Oasis), Morrissey (The Smiths) and Stephen Morris (Joy Division).
