nota
Conwy, on the north coast of Wales and facing the Irish Sea, is home to Conwy Castle, a monumental structure built during the reign of Edward I between 1283 and 1289. Its walls, still remarkably well preserved, run over 1km in length and close in on themselves forming a medieval fortress. Conwy is also home to the smallest house in Great Britain (I had the pleasure of going inside and forgetting my shoulder bag in there, passport and all, and had to run back 15 minutes later to track it down). Small town, mostly retirees or kids staying at their grandparents' for the holidays, there are 3 shops within the walls: 1 pub (because nobody's made of iron), a mini market and a medieval souvenir shop, plus Aberconwy House, a merchant's house that's been standing there since the 14th century.
